Our humble beginnings can be tracked back to a young Richard “Dick” Sgarlato running a Union 76 service station in San Jose, CA. Dick recognized the need to purchase his first tow truck when his customers called for repair service but could not get their vehicle to him because of a roadside breakdown. As time went on and the demand for towing services increased, Dick expanded his fleet. What started with one tow truck, has now expanded to a fleet of 25 trucks. In 1968, Dick applied for and was granted a contract to tow for AAA, in addition to several police contracts that were added to the business portfolio over the years. After 33 years in business, Dick decided to retire and hand over the business to his four sons, who still own and operate our business today.

Customer service has always been a top priority for Dick's Community Towing and has received numerous awards, including Freeway Service Patrol Contractor of the Year and AAA’s Service Provider of Excellence. Our large fleet and well trained and friendly staff provide all the necessary services needed to our customers, including flatbed towing, long distance towing, exotic car towing, contract work, and mobile battery installation to name a few.
